If you want to have granite accents in your house, you are going to have a lot of choices ahead of you. Granit comes in all kinds of colors, so that's one of the choices that you are going to have to deal with, as well as what kind of shape and style you want the accents to look like. Another choice you are going to have to make is whether you want to use natural or cultured stone. They both have their own positives and negatives, so you can have all kinds of things to think about when you are trying to decide which one you want to use at your house. You may decide that you want to go with all one choice or the other, or you may decide that you want to uses some natural stone in places and some cultured stone in other places.

Natural Stone

Natural granite is granite that comes straight out of the ground. It can be cut, shaped, polished, and other similar processes, but in general, it's the same stone as was originally dug up from out of the ground. With natural granite, you can get a lot of variation in colors, even in the same piece, and no one piece is going to look like another, even if they come out of the same original larger rock. If you want something that shows off that variation, that would be a good choice. The problem with natural stone is that it can be more expensive, so if you want to use large quantities of it, you need to keep that in mind.

Cultured Stone

Cultured stone has natural stone in it, but that's not all that's there. It is made up of chips and stone dust that is mixed in with an epoxy or resin. Then it is tinted so that it looks like natural granite. Because it has granite chips, dust, and other remnants in it, it's not hard to make the cultured stone look natural. Cultured stone tends to be less heavy than natural stone, so if you want to use it on places where weight is an issue, it might be the best choice for you.

If you are going to use granite in your house, there are all kinds of choices that you are going to have to make, including whether you want to go with natural or cultured stone. There are many options for granite stone products that can beautify your home.
